Sign up now for the 5K/10 Mile & Fun Run March 7, 2015

Register online at or pick up an application at the YMCA.

This is the first year that we have had long enough trail to offer a 10 Mile Run.  The Foote trail is almost finished to Galilee Church Road and will be in the very near future.  This is where the 10 Mile Run will take place.  The 5K will happen on the Railtrail, the Plateau, and the Cardio Trail.  The Fun Run will just be a short run for kids on the rail loop trail.  All Fun Run folks will receive a medal and t shirt.  We have beautiful rail spike trophies this year that are being made locally.  Since we have 1/4 of a mile of trail on the old rail bed and since the Gateway is part of "Rails to Trails" for North Carolina, we thought it appropriate to have these new spike trophies made for our winners this year.  You can still sign up even before the run on Saturday morning until 8:30 a.m.  The races start at 9.  If you sign up on line or send in your application asap, you will be guaranteed a t shirt...beautiful new logo for 2015.  If you can't run, come and cheer everyone on!  Refreshments will be served to the runners furnished by the Kings Mountain Family YMCA.  See the list of sponsors for 2015 below.

Join the Gateway Trail for a STAR GAZING EVENING on March 14, 2015, 6:30-10 p.m. Raindate, March 28.
